FVC-2100/2200 – VELOCITY SENSING FUME HOOD CONTROL SYSTEM
For basic constant velocity fume hood control using face velocity measurement, Tek-Air recommends model FVC-2100 or FVC-2200. The two systems utilize identical components with the exception of duct exhaust volume sensing equipment added to the FVC-2000 to provide flow limit control. Tek-Air’s VorTek airflow traverse probes provide volumetric measurement in that application.
Both systems provide face velocity control using the “sidewall sensing” method. The basic system consists of a controller, sensor probes, display unit, I/P converter, and exhaust air control valve. The controller is typically wall-mounted above the fume hood. The thermal face velocity sensor in the controller connects via PVC tubing to the hood probe mounted on the inner sidewall of the fume hood and the reference probe mounted outside the fume hood interior.
The FVC2100 and FVC2200 also works well with the AV3000 and BVP4000 Control valves when the I/P output is wired to the fast acting electric actuator.
